Well, Twitter is one of the best social platforms to connect with people. However, do you know how you can DM someone on Twitter?
Nowadays, you can create a conversation with anyone, even with presidents of major world powers.
There are plenty of reasons to send a DM.
Actually, it is relatively easy to do so. If you follow with the receiver, it is even more comfortable.
Memes are getting funnier every day, and you would not want your friend to miss Donald Trump’s last controversial tweet.
Maybe you want that, that’s sad.
Well, you can even have a spiritual conversation with a celebrity. It will be spiritual because most of the stars do not respond to their DMs.
We cannot blame them, though. It can be pretty hard to get a thousand messages every day. You can still go for it, though. What is on the line to lose?
How Can You DM a Person on Twitter
While mentioning someone with their Twitter handle can help, it is not the most private way of starting a conversation.
Every follower of yours would be able to see a mention of yours. So, it is a good idea to learn how to send a DM.
- Open your web browser and log in to Twitter.
- Click on ‘Messages’ section at the top center of the page.
- From there, you can click on ‘New message’ at the top right corner of the pop-up screen.
- Enter the Twitter username of the receiver, and click on ‘Next.’
- Now you can send a DM of your own.
Do not forget that if you are mutually following each other with the receiver, they will get your DM immediately.
However, if they are not following you, your message will land in their filtered requests. They have to check this box manually to see your messages.
Additionally, some people do not want to receive DMs from people they are not following. Therefore, if you are unable to send a DM to someone, that may be the case.
